We are asking for your support to reach those who are unaware of their status. It is true that everyone deserves proper health care. However, sometimes we must bring the health care to the people. BRASS 1 (our mobile testing unit) has limited services, but it is getting the job done. By planting a seed with Baton Rouge AIDS Society, you will be helping us move forward in the following areas:
HIV Testing and Referral Services
HIV Testing Mobile Unit
HIV Testing Client Incentives
HIV Testing Community Development/Education
and
Gaps in Client Services After Testing
There are three ways that you may support "Project Plant".
DONATIONS
All donations are accepted at Baton Rouge AIDS Society. No donation is too small or too large. You may donate cash, personal items, furniture, and even cars. All donations are tax deductable. Your name or company will appear in our newsletter to demonstrate your community support during your year of contribution.
GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Second Annual "Take A Swing At HIV" National Testing Day Tournament is scheduled for June 16, 2008, at University Club. You may register a team of show your support through tournament sponsorship at different levels. Help us to prevent the spread of HIV by enhancing testing opportunities.
PAY IT FORWARD LOUISIANA
The premise of the novel Pay It Forward is one that any person can implement in his or her own life, at any time. It begins with doing a favor for another person -- without any expectation of being paid back.
"Pay It Forward Louisiana" is a fundraising option at Baton Rouge AIDS Society where we will return to you a letter acknowledging receipt of your contribution, but we will not print your name/company or advertise your support in any fashion. This protects the confidentiality of our donor and prevents public recognition for his/her good works.
By paying it forward, you are simply requesting that we bless others as you have blessed us. Nothing else in return. The agency will hold an annual meeting in January of every year to discuss the success of its programs and the special accomplishments from community contributions.
